Five AI Limited is the controller of any personal data we collect and is responsible for any use we make of that personal data (referred to as, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy notice).

2.  The data we collect about you from the ‘Download Dataset’ form and how it’s collected

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. In the ‘Download Dataset’ form, we ask you to complete a form to provide various information that would be considered to be personal data.  

We collect this data from you by you filling in and submitting the ‘Download Dataset’  form.  We do not collect any other personal data from you in relation to the ‘Download Dataset’  form.

3.  How we use this personal data and how long we’ll keep it for

Datasets are made available to be downloaded and used for non-commercial research purposes only. We ask for, process and retain your personal data so we can:

  • confirm your identity and the purpose(s) for which you may be downloading our dataset;

  • identify those who may be carrying out research that might be of interest to us and, where relevant, to contact you to discuss working together;  

  • analyse possible interest in future dataset releases in various ways;

  • monitor the use of and enforce our rights in the dataset and compliance with the Licence terms


Your information will be retained for as long as we need to retain it to carry out those purposes. It will not be disclosed to third parties save, where strictly necessary, to any external legal advisers we may retain or where we are required to disclose it by law governmental  or regulatory body, or by a court of other authority of competent jurisdiction.

The lawful basis for processing your data is that it’s necessary for our legitimate interests (conducting research in and promoting research in developing autonomous vehicle technologies and/or managing the release of our dataset).  

While you may have a right to object to our use of your personal data, we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data.
